Every year we get Columbus Day off. I've always wondered why do we celebrate a man who ensalved human beings . You can say he found North America and yes, he did. We still shouldn't celebrate a man that has done horrible things. This is why I believe we should get 9/11 off or Veterans Day. 9/11 was a day that many of us remember and we still learn about in schools. Many people lost their lives on that tragic day, but we still don't get it off to remember all those who lost their lives. Veterans Day is a day that a lot of us celebrate because most of us have or had family members or friends in the military that have fought for our freedom. Yet we don't celebrate what they gave up so we can have all the freedoms we take for granted. This is why I think we shouldn't celebrate Columbus Day.
