The Department of Homeland Security has purchased 1.6 BILLION rounds of ammunition in the last several months. The DHS says that these very expensive hollow point bullets used only for shooting humans are "bought in bulk to save money". This is simply not true. Hollow point bullets are made to expand and cause mass organ trauma as it enters a human and can cost several dollars per bullet. Training rounds are NOWHERE in this range. They are about 60-80 cents a piece and are not intended for use in warfare. The DHS has also purchased 7000 fully automatic assault rifles and several thousand armored mine-resistant personnel carriers which are commonly described as light tanks. What appears to be happening is that the DHS is gearing up for war with the American people, not saving money.
