The residency program directors/committees have unfair and special/specific eligibility requirements to obtain a position as a resident. You can pass all the USMLE exams but that doesn't mean you'll get an interview, therefore a residency, therefore a license. In this country, if your a lawyer, an accountant, an engineer, a nurse, a PA, a pilot, a truck driver, ANY other profession, you can practice your profession and work in your field if you PASS the required exams. That's is why each of those exams has a PASSING grade. The bar exam, the CPA exams, the PA exam, the pilot exams, etc.. ONLY in medicine do we permit the almighty program directors, (who are simply Dr.s themselves), to make up their OWN elitist rules and state that the passing scores SET by the USMLE means NOTHING. Shameful.
