Every year the American Society of Civil Engineers publishes a national report card. This is an assessment of the state of our nations infrastructure. They are currently rating us a "D". This should be unacceptable to us, we have put off much needed maintenance and modernization since the 1980's, but this procrastination can go on no longer.
Soon our national infrastructure will be so bad that we cannot afford to repair it, or no one will have the political will to fund the repair. Either way we will become a third world country if we do not have drivable roads, bridges that stay up, water mains that do not burst, and power lines that work through storms. We need this improvement, for our nation and for our economy. This is good for all, conservatives, liberals, Democrats, and Republican
