For over a century, people in our distant territories such as Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa and the Northern Marianas have not had voting rights. The delegates from each territory have brought up this issue several times and each time have been dismissed. None of these people are allowed to vote for anything, including the President who could send them to war. With lots of this territory being used by the United States military, this is more nonsensical and unfair than many would think. In addition, American Samoans are not even American citizens. This is a very pressing issue and it needs to be solved.
