I propose a change in our Global Entry program. I would like to see the United States allow those on H-1B visas the ability to enroll in the Global Entry program.
It pains me to hear the stories from colleagues, friends and acquaintances regarding our border entry process. I have never met someone on an H-1B that seemed like a threat or a danger to the United States. The stress we cause them upon re-entry into the United States is needless and only projects a negative image of our country.
I can imagine a lot of ways this new program could be implemented. But I think we could easily start with those on H-1B visas that have lived in the United States for at least 2 years. Ultimately, I would like to see this rolled out to all those with an H-1B visa.
