The Bush tax cuts gave me about $34 back per paycheck. Republicans say that the top 2% of wage earners shouldn't be the ones to take on the entire tax burden. Frankly, I am tired of this argument.
According to Roger Lowenstein in the Newsweek article "Stop the Panic. It's Not 2008", the Bush tax cuts, over the next 10 years, will "bleed the Treasury of $5.4 trillion more" than the 3 trillion they have already cost us. We need to raise tax revenues so that our elderly & our poor have health care, our infrastructure can be rebuilt & our schools can be made more competitive.
So, go ahead, take my Bush tax cuts. Use them to make our country stronger & to repair some of the damage that was done by the Bush administration. I challenge every American, especially the top 2%, to do the same.
