As a combat veteran in the Infantry, I am suspect on the motivation to include women in the Infantry (short of being for political gain), but if you, personally, feel that equality is a necessary endeavor and will not affect combat effectiveness, then why not go all in?
A few steps that would carry weight to disavowing claims that you only want things to be "Basically Equal" would be to:
1) Do away with the gender based PT scores, if (as proponents say) "women can do anything a man can do," then lets hold them to the current (higher) male PT standards.
2) Although the draft is (currently) a moot point, it seems a bit sexist to not allow (or should we say require) women to be a part of the "key component of national security strategy" (as SSS.gov calls it).
