God should pay taxes. We do not live in the 1850's anymore the separation of church and state is a 100 year old argument the two are now skewed even though I doubt this has much to do with the discussion anyway more of just a distraction.
The church system is as badly abused as the charity system, the government wants to oversea foreign bank accounts while they have corruption in the blatant form of churches and charities right in front of them. If churches do not want to pay taxes then they should move to the outskirts of cities not be locking up "Prime" real-estate. The argument of the "Giving back" to the community is lame as well, only giving back to particular causes = charity, a church is not a public school it is not a public building most times if you want to use the facilities y
