In the past few years, we have documented countless examples of peaceful protests met with police barricades, armed with riot gear and mace. These protests, by and large, were of marginalized and minority groups with no stated intention of violence.
The Ku Klux Klan has announced they will have a victory parade on Dec 3, 2016 in North Carolina.
All groups have First Amendment rights. The past years have set a precedent for the local and federal police to stand in on peaceful protests that have any feared potential of violence.
We the People demand that the federal government ensure a response to the December 3rd parade and future rallies of the KKK in equal presence to those for Black Lives Matter, Standing Rock, and multiple other peaceful protests.
