A government program to pay a salary to family members who are full time primary caregivers for their family members.

Created by D.P. on February 11, 2015

Allow American family members, who must or choose to quit their full time jobs to become full time primary caregivers to their own ill, terminally ill, or disabled family members, to receive a salary under Medicaid, Medicare, or other program. My own mother had a stroke shortly after my father passed. She was alone and required 'round the clock assistance with daily activities such as getting dressed, bathing, and driving to doctor appointments. She cannot drive, cook, or clean. I tried to help her while working full time, working 12 hour days, it was nearly impossible and extremely exhausting. I had to quit my full time job, and move into her home as her primary caregiver. On her social Security budget, she can't afford the live in help she needs, nor supporting the both of us.
