While the first amendment does give us the right to free speech, it is vital to know that there is a clear difference between fighting for something and fighting against something. From racists holding protests in the 1950s to boycott racial integration in schools to the anti-Muslim rally at the Phoenix Mosque to the anti-Israel rallys being set up across the nation, free speech has since been nothing discriminatory and malevolent. The only way to truly reach peace in out nation is to learn how to live together equally.
Yes I know it gives us the right to offend and be offended but...for what? To spread hatred among us? Lies and manipulation will only cause more and more riots and unrest.
I don't mean to completely get rid of the first amendment but to simply...revise it.
