Government shut down = automatic tax credit

Created by P.B. on September 29, 2013

Congress needs to do their job; that is what our citizens elected you to do. Grow up, both sides, and come to agreement on issues instead of acting like children. Your antics are damaging our country more and more each day.

Since there is seemingly no recourse to your dangerous actions and bombastic remarks, I offer the following petition:

For every day that our federal government is shut down, a tax credit will be applied on a pro-rata basis to the applicable calendar year impacted. For example, if we are shut down for 7 days, then 7/365 (= 1.9%) is credited against each citizen’s tax bill.

If there is no government operating, then we shouldn’t be paying for those days. Maybe with this rule our various factions can suddenly figure out a way to come together.
