I believe there should be an executive order signed by the President so that if the Government is shut down the following should happen.
As they are only going to be meeting for 126 days this year out of 365 days if the Government does shut down at any time during the debt ceiling talks they should also not get paid as a percentage of their salary.
So for everyday the Government Shuts Down:
Speaker of the House would lose $1773.81
House Leadership would lose $1534.92
Rank and File Members would lose $1380.95
This must be without any chance to recovery the pay retroactively once the fight is over.
If We The People must suffer without a chance to recovery our loses they should as well!
