If Congress decides to stress out the country and put our credit rating in jeopardy again they should put their money where their mouth is. Any legislator that votes to shut down the government should forfeit their paychecks, insurance coverage and any other perks that come with their job. They should also be required to return to their districts and explain (in person) to seniors, disabled, jobless, children, etc exactly why they are not receiving their benefits because of their decision to shut down the government.
