Government subsidies to put 1,000,000 new all-electric vehicles on the road in just 2 years.

Created by J.D. on September 22, 2011

I propose getting 1,000,000 new electric cars on the road in the next 2 years with a simple, cost effective government subsidy.
Over 2 years, the government will give car dealers $20,000 for every electric car they sell. Up to 500,000 cars each year, for the next 2 years. Totaling $20B over 2 years in subsidies.
This would drastically cut the price of electric cars for consumers. For example, a Tesla Model S would drop from $50k to $30k. A Nissan Leaf would drop from $35k to $15k.
This can also be seen as a permanent tax cut, with the savings on gasoline & repair costs, Americans would save thousands every year.
It would also create countless new jobs; building new electric charging stations, electric vehicle repair shops, electric car factories, etc.
Make the switch now & save our planet!
