according to census data, (source) http://factfinder2.census.gov/faces/tableservices/jsf/pages/productview....
there are about 9 million americans age 18-19... there are another 8.8 million americans ageD 20-21... lets overestimate that figure at 18 million people...
suppose our government started a mental health program where 200,000 government employed psychologists meet with one of these 18 million people once per year for 4 years. that means each psychologist meets with 90 people per year, one person every 4 days. could this sort of program lead to identifying individuals with mental health issues and reducing these sorts of disasters? just an idea.... the math is easy... get on this washington, dc!
