Gracefully apologize to Mexico for annexing Texas and offer its return with all due haste.

Created by S.C. on April 17, 2014

Whereas the United States made an embarrassing foreign policy "faux pas" when it decided to annex Texas in 1845 and,

Wherein the said minor "faux pas" resulted in a war between Mexico and the United States over the issue and,

Whereas the said war between Mexico and the United States resulted in Texas becoming a part of this Union, we the undersigned hereby petition the President of the United States (current and future) to:

1. Graciously apologize for our oversight. It was brash and boorish.

2. Formally ask Mexico to take Texas back.

3. In so doing, we would humbly request that Mexico allow the United States to continue to retain possession of Austin (all territory within Austin's city limits).
