In response to the various petitions calling for a dissolution of the Union:
This petition invites Alabamians of the twenty-first century (as opposed to the nineteenth) to sign in support of the preservation of the Union—tangibly and intangibly. It also stands as a vote of confidence for the President as the popularly elected executive of the nation, regardless of personal political persuasions.
This petition proves that the undersigned have learned from the history that haunts a citizenry once fooled by a truly oppressive STATE government, replete with self-serving propaganda.
It is to prove that those who signed for secession are not representative of the great State of Alabama, and it is to promote other states to create their own petition.
