This Petition addresses the most critical issues concerning the poor Working/Financial Conditions of all Graduate Students throughout the US Universities who are enrolled in the PhD and Masters Programs.
The Gradstudents , many with 2 or 3 degrees, work between 8 to 16 hours a day a minimum of 6 days a week are paid so meagre stipends / salaries to survive-upon that they are forced to live a life of scaracity and economic hardships. At many schools even part-time custodians doing small/odd jobs get paid much better than the them.
We Request the President to look into the financial plight of Grad Students and take appropriate measures to end their lives of paucity and misery by raising and standardising grad stipends/salaries to a minimum of $3K/$36K per month/year to reward their labor.
