The "threshold" for any Petition to receive a response was raised today from 25,000 signatures to 100,000 signatures, and was done without user notice for existing petitions.
Petitions.WhiteHouse.Gov is obligated to respect each petition writer and signer and to honor their original agreement for those petitions.
I propose that all Petitions written/posted on this date (Jan 15, 2013) and prior maintain the original 25,000-signature requirement, and all petitions written/published Jan 16, 2013 and after with the 100,000 signature threshold.
We should use this "response protocol" as the basis for future changes whenever the signature threshold change!!
