Keep the faith with current enlsited Soldiers. Allow Soldiers with tattoos the opportunity to seek a commission.
The recent change in AR 670-1 does not allow currently enlisted Soldiers the same opportunity afforded to their comrades if they have more than four hand size tattoos below their elbows or knees. This is an arbitrary rule that discriminates against enlisted Soldiers with tattoos. Hand, neck and face tattoos were never allowed without a waiver. Soldiers with a waiver up should be allowed to seek a commission as well. The Army stands to lose a sizable portion of experience otherwise.
A tattoo that is not offensive in nature should not reflect upon the ability of an experienced enlisted Soldier and their potential to lead as an officer.
