All school districts in the USA should have at least one make up free snow day for all schools within the district. When it snows here in North Carolina, which is very rare, and becomes progressively rarer as you move further south, we have to take time off of breaks to make up. My school district (which can't be alone) gives us no snow days. Surprising, considering there is more then one day throughout the year that the school district could certainly give up, and have done so before when did we have snow days. Districts having a single snow day to enjoy the snow or relax inside without interfering with break and plans should be a nationwide rule. Children used to say Yay! Snow Day! when it snowed. Now we have mixed feelings about snow and are never as excited. Give us a snow day, please.
