This petition is to grant a little bit more job security to the American Worker. We have a 40 hour work week, OSHA, Child labor laws, Family Leave, L&I benefits if hurt on the job, 15 minute breaks every 4 hours, a scheduled lunch, unemployment benefits and on and on and on.
Yet, we do not grant our Workers a Cost of Living increase every year in order to offset rising inflation. Labor Unions have this in place, and they only represent 12% of the American Labor force. What about the other EIGHTY-EIGHT PERCENT??!!!
Many workers right now are in stagnant jobs, just trying to get buy. Employers refuse to give them raises, or in some instances not even sick or holiday pay either.
For every year they are on the job, they make LESS AND LESS!!
