When a people live by a certain set of moral, economic, and social principles from those around them, it becomes necessary for those people to declare themselves a sovereign society. It is by this belief, that we, the United States High School Democrats, petition the Obama administration to allow the Amish country to become its own sovereign nation. The Amish, due to their unique way of living, do not deserve to be subjected to the tyranny of a modern government. The laws of the United States are suited for the United States however they are not applicable to a people that live entirely different lives. Therefore, I believe that the nation of Amishia should be created to allow the Amish people to prosper without being held back by their current oppressors. That is all. Long live Kiernan.
