Grant amnesty to illegal immigrants who overstayed their visas and do not have criminal records.

In 2011, the number of illegal immigrants in the US was estimated at 11.5 million. However, the vast majority of the illegal immigrant population came to the US before 2000. This shows that most illegal immigrants in America have already established strong ties with their local communities and are, for the most part, productive members of the US economy. Many are also parents of American-born children that cannot be uprooted or begin a new life in a foreign country. Granting legal status to these immigrants will ensure the continuous guardianship of their children and contribute to a healthy family life. This part of our society works hard, builds families, pays taxes, are highly driven to succeed, and, ultimately, benefits this country.
