As citizens of the United States and/or foreigners with economic interests in the United States financial system we ask the Government to grant bitcoin (the digital currency) status as legal tender in the United States.
As seen in the 2008 credit crisis events in the US financial system have strong global implications. There is significant concentration of power and control in just a few large financial institutions, thus the greed or mistakes of a few can have tremendous global impact.
Given such concentrations in the current system we ask that citizens be allowed a choice.
Bitcoin is a digital currency with characteristics opposite to that of the current US dollar system. For instance, it is decentralized, deflationary, rare, useful and governed by math not people.
