Republican Senators Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Kelly Ayotte, NH have urged President Barack Obama to strip 19-year-old Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev of his constitutional protections and hold him as an enemy combatant. We petition the President to publicly defend Mr. Tsarnaev's constitutional protections. Namely, but not exclusively, we urge that Mr. Tsarnaev be guaranteed his rights to due process of law, legal counsel, speedy public trial, a grand jury, a clear notice of criminal charges, and his rights against self-incrimination and from cruel and unusual punishment. The crimes of which Mr. Tsarnaev is being accused are of the most heinous and despicable nature; however, this country was created in the name of liberty and justice for all—this must never be forgotten.
