As an undocumented American I know Mr. Vargas is exactly what immigrants are; talented people who get caught up in a broken system. Vargas has confessed his violations of the laws. He showed remorse & apologized during a speech given at the ONA12; asking humbly for a chance to fix his status. Immigration systems are created to unite families, boost economies & increase diversity, yet, in the U.S., it feeds for-profit prison corporations that separate families. As a future citizen, I ask the WH to command Sec. Napolitano to make a kind & courageous human being, Jose Antonio Vargas, a U.S. Citizen. This command must be a clear reminder that this nation’s history began with individuals traveling across the ocean in a ship called the Mayflower, seeking freedom for themselves & their families.
