We the people of the City of Pittsburg, Kansas wish to stay in the United States of America and maintain its relationship with the original federal government. We wish to maintain the benefit gained from military defense, the right to freedom of religion, and other rights that define us as an humane entity. We feel that secession from the Federal government would cause untold harm to the state and its peoples. Not to count that by doing so is acting like petty little children who forget what it means to be an American and that these actions are not what makes us great. What made us a great nations was respecting anothers opinion, even when we did not like it. We, the people of Pittsburg, Kansas, refuse categorically to be included with these hateful individuals.
