Oshan Cook is a well-loved community advocate and a lifelong social justice activist from the San Francisco Bay Area. He introduced thousands of people to the magic and beauty of tea culture through his teahouse, mobile tea setups, tea workshops, and non-profit community activities. On April 26, 2013, a judge decreed a “mandatory minimum” sentence of 12.5 years in federal prison on charges of distributing psychedelics, with no right to parole. Oshan’s conviction followed two jury trials, with the first ending in a hung jury, and he is currently serving time at Taft Correctional Camp in Taft, California, near Bakersfield.
Since Oshan has not committed any violent crimes and since he is a benefit to community and society, we seek a Presidential Pardon and clemency from President Obama.
