Currently denizens of The District of Columbia do not have a voting representative in Congress and must pay ALL federal taxes. The people of D.C. deserve the same rights as other Americans. That is why the District of Columbia should be granted statehood. This would allow those in D.C. to have voting representatives in Congress.
