The residents of the District of Columbia (DC) are represented in the house by a non-voting delegate despite paying the same federal income taxes that those who live in states pay.
According to the 2010 Census, DC had 601,723 residents, which is a greater population than the state of Wyoming (population of 563,626). Why should the smaller population of Wyoming have a bigger voice in the house than the larger population of DC? All voices should be heard.
The residents of the District of Columbia have been disenfranchised for long enough. It is time that our voices are heard in the U.S. House of Representatives and we get a vote.
