Whereas, the Duwamish Tribe is not federally recognized by the federal government,
Whereas, the Duwamish Tribe has no rights to any land or agricultural resources,
Whereas, the Duwamish Tribe has no rights over any artifacts found on their land; if there was an artifact found it would go directly to the government,
Whereas, the Duwamish Tribe was declared extinct in 2001, when today they have a population of 500,
Whereas, the Duwamsih Tribe has signed treaties with the U.S. government which have been violated,
And whereas, the Duwamish tribe has no way of making any money to support their tribe,
We the undersigned call upon the Obama Administration to grant the Duwamsih tribe the federal recognition they clearly deserve.
