There are 3 steps towards obtaining a green card through the Employment based second preference category (EB2)-1) Obtaining a PERM labor certification 2) File I140 GC petition letter for approval 3) Adjustment of Status.
The first 2 steps takes 2 to 3 years for approval. However for the third step i.e. the adjustment of status for India, the most retrogressed country the wait time to file adjustment of status is nearly 8 years and for china its around 3 years currently. This just means that those who are filing their green cards are married to the same job for years with little or no mobility.
We respectfully ask the administration to take this issue into consideration and grant EAD's to those with approved I140 for greater mobility of jobs so that we realize our American dreams.
