Veterans exposed to Dioxin (Agent Orange) and other toxic substances have been systematically denied disability compensation by the V. A. for illness connected with exposure to toxic chemicals while stationed or trained at Ft McClellan, Alabama. At the same time any serviceman that set foot in the Vietnam Theater is granted "Presumptive Exposure Status", and obtains disability benefits easily.
The CBS program 60 Minutes once called Fort Mac the most toxic place on the planet: the only chem/bio facility in the Army where live substances were manufactured, stored, and used in training. The most toxic of all substances: Agent Orange which contained Dioxin, the most potent carcinogen know to man.
House Bills to rectify this inequity have all been killed. Current Bill: H.R. 411
