Grant every citizen in the United States a guaranteed income.

Granting a guaranteed income to every citizen in the United States will destroy poverty. While this is what welfare attempts to do it has been terribly inefficient and criticized by many for being an unfair redistribution of wealth. By giving every person in the country, men women and children an income allowing them to purchase minimal housing, necessary food & clothing along with a small disposable income this system will eliminate poverty without discrimination. It is also a progressive income system, those who make a very small income will be greatly benefited because it will amount to a large proportion of their income; it will be a small proportion of high income earners incomes. This keeps any group from falling below a livable income while allowing people climb the economic ladder.
