In 2007 the DEA designated some forms of Iodine as a controlled substance because of possible use in drug manufacture. But Iodine crystals are a key ingredient in water purification systems used by Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and other outdoor adventurers. The DEA regulations would cause every manufacture and merchant of these products to spend thousands of dollars applying for exemptions and track every bottle sold, which has basically banned this useful product. Without effective water purification, many people will either get sick or reduce their outdoor activities. Neither of these are good results of this over-reaching regulation.
Common sense dictates that the President direct the DEA to grant exceptions for Polar Pure (and similar products) manufacturing, distribution and sales.
