This petition is to give fathers equal rights and access to their children upon divorce or separation of the parents. In this day and age, the mother of the child or children is usually given full custody of the child(ren), thus leaving the father with only "parenting time" and forcing the father to pay child support. While the father pays child support it is often overlooked that the father also has to support the child in his own household. The Declaration of Independence states "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Custody of a child's life is a God given right and fathers should be treated equal.
