Federal Govt. employees work hard, have meaningful jobs that support homeland security & support our military, among many other functions. Federal Govt. jobs make a difference and affect the nation as a whole. Civil Service jobs carry a great deal of responsibility. They were the first people to take a hit with a pay-freeze to help ease the debt crisis. It only makes sense to reward that responsibility with one four day weekend out of the year at a time when people are gathering with family, that day being Thanksgiving. Call it Thanksgiving Break, or Fall Break. It is simply one day off, that will allow Civil Servants to spend one extra day a year with family. This would be a major morale booster across the country that would increase job performance.
