Ugandan leadership has stated that they will pass a bill criminalizing homosexual acts by life imprisonment or death. This blatant violation of basic human rights should not go without action. The United States must immediately grant full asylum to the persecuted LGBT community in Uganda to preserve their freedom and lives. This should be followed by sanctions against Uganda for violation of human rights and attempts of mass murder. They should receive no support from us until they halt the persecution of those of alternative sexualities.
