Grant full voting rights to ex-felons

Created by J.T. on April 19, 2014

All prisoners should have their voting rights automatically restored upon being released from prison. Nearly 6 million individuals are barred from voting due to felony disenfranchisement laws. Why are American citizens not allowed to exercise their right to vote after paying their debt to society? Congress should enact legislation to restore voting rights so that ex-felons across the country will be allowed to vote in federal elections. Ex-felons are required to work and to pay taxes and should be allowed to vote on how their tax dollars are being spent. Ex-felons deserve to have a say over which lawmakers should take part in making policies that concern their well-being and strengthen our democracy.
