Grant Justice for the Tulsa Oklahoma Holocaust Survivors

Created by C.M. on January 23, 2013

This petition is being made on behalf of the survivors and decedents of the Tulsa Race Riots. On May 31, 1921 over 300 black men, women, and children were murdered by white members of the Tulsa community. The community of Greenwood was burned to the ground and most families lost everything. In February 2001 the Tulsa Race Riot Commission prepared a report suggesting recommendations for reparations that should be made to the survivors and their decedents. While suggestions were taken into account little has been done to actually provide justice for the survivors and residents of Greenwood. Additionally there has been no official aplogy provided to the surviors and thier families. The goal of this petition is to bring justice that is long overdue to those affected by the riot.
