grant Leonard Peltier immediate unconditional executive clemency.

Created by J.R. on November 14, 2012

Mr Peltier, member of the American Indian Movement (AIM), was convicted of the murder of two FBI agents in 1975 on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation in South Dakota.

The Peltier conviction was obtained on the basis of coerced and false testimony from witnesses threatened by the FBI and by the government's suppression of evidence favorable to Peltier's case. The government holds 6,000 documents in whole and 5,000 in part dealing with the case.

Leonard Peltier is over 60 years old and his health is deteriorating. He is a man of peace with grandchildren he has never met. His continued imprisonment after over 30 years appears to be nothing less than revenge for a crime Leonard Peltier did not commit.
