A number of American citizens have joined the Kurdish People Protection Units (YPG) to fight the designated terrorist organization ISIL. Some of them have been killed in combat. This includes Levi "Jack" Shirley, Jordan MacTaggart, and William Savage. These brave soldiers, while not part of the U.S. military, should still be granted military funeral honors for their selfless sacrifice while fighting one of America's foes.
