Grant the partners of legally married homosexual soldiers the same benefits straight spouses receive.

Created by S.S. on November 17, 2012

While I understand the federal government has yet to make any real stand on gay marriage they have allowed soldiers to serve in the military even if they are openly gay. They have not however granted their spouses the same benefits, nor do these soldiers receive the separation pay married straight soldiers receive while deployed. I understand that gay marriage has yet to actually be legalized on a federal level however several states have done so; at the very least the married homosexual national guardsmen from these states should be entitled to the same benefits as their straight counterparts. This isn't about gay or straight it's about taking care of soldiers and their families.
