grant permanent resident visas to people who hold an advanced degree, Masters or PhD, from an accredited US university.

Created by A.F. on October 31, 2014

Grant advanced degree holders (from US universities) a STEM visa upon graduation. Around 35% of STEM students are foreign. Unfortunately, foreign citizenship blocks these students from applying for jobs in the US. The US loses the benefit of this education even though many of these students would love to stay and contribute to a stronger, more innovative US. The new STEM visa approach is a good start, however, the onerous and lengthy process needs to be addressed as employers are reluctant to go through a potentially 2 year waiting period. The benefit to all Americans can be seen in this 2013 article: http://americanactionforum.org/insights/granting-green-cards-to-stem-gra....
