The petetion's aim is to post-humously pardon Lee Harvey Oswald in the murders of President Kennedy and Officer J.D. Tippit as he was denied basic legal rights following his suspicious arrest at the Texas Theater in Dallas on November 22nd, 1963. The house commmittee on assassinations concluded that there probably was a conspiracy in the Kennedy assassination. Also several idependent studies have found that it was extremely unlikely that Oswald was the shooter in the death of the president. While it is likely that Oswald was in someway connected to the murder of president Kennedy, there is not even close to enough evidence that Oswald was the shooter, and if Oswald had not been shot by Jack Ruby and had been to put to trial, no honest jury would have convicted him.
