Grant a pro-active pardon to Edward Snowden and recognize him as a hero for exposing illegal government spying.

Created by P.K. on December 01, 2015

Edward Snowden accepted great personal risk to protect the American people from unconstitutional and illegal spying on the American public. When we elect people to office the first obligation is to swear an oath to uphold and defend our constitution.

While we honor the soldier to gives his or her life to protect our constitution, sometimes it is people like Snowden who sacrifice for the same purpose and wind up vilified instead.

Patriotism is not always pretty. Sometimes a patriot must go against his own government when he finds wrongdoing. Even a soldier is warned against following a clearly illegal order. Snowden did no less.

We ask the Snowden be free to return home without fear of retribution.
President Obama should grant a pardon before leaving office as Ford did for Nixon.
