Whereas recent admissions by the Internal Revenue Service show that government agencies discriminated in their service to citizens on the basis of their political orientaton, and
Whereas conservative groups and individuals were singled out on the basis of their political views, and
Whereas the First Amendment guarantees the right of U.S. citizens to free speech, and
Whereas the Equal Protection Clause guarantees that no U.S. citizen shall be denied equal protection of the laws without due process, and
Whereas conservatives were denied free speech and due process,
We the undersigned request that conservatives be granted protected minority status to make further abuses of power unquestionably prohibited. Persecution for political views should not be tolerated in the government.
